Metatarsalgia
Normal foot
What is Metatarsalgia?
Metatarsalgia is a painful condition affecting the forefoot, specifically the area known as the metatarsals (the bones in the middle of the foot). Typically, it presents as a dull or burning pain that worsens with movement. This condition can be caused by a variety of factors, such as wearing tight or rigid shoes, overuse, or injuries.
Our Shoe Recommendation
Shoes for individuals with metatarsalgia should provide enough room in the toe area to reduce pressure on the forefoot. Cushioning can help alleviate pressure on the forefoot. Low heels, good cushioning, and a rolling sole further reduce pressure on the forefoot. A "metatarsal pad" or "metatarsal support" can specifically reduce pressure on the forefoot and help alleviate pain.
