What is a heel spur?

A heel spur (also known as plantar fasciitis) is a bony growth on the heel that can cause pain. The pain is caused by inflammation in the tissue triggered by pressure on the heel spur. Heel spurs often occur in people who spend long periods standing or walking on hard surfaces, or in overweight individuals.

Our Shoe Recommendation

To alleviate pain and promote healing, shoes with good cushioning in the heel area and support in the arch of the foot are recommended. It is also important for the shoe to have a good fit to avoid overloading the heel. Additional relief can be provided by a rolling sole.

An additional effective relief can be achieved with an insole or footbed featuring a special heel cushioning combined with arch support.
